When I was little, one of my relatives told me about our family tree. She mentioned a person who had died several years ago, and I immediately fell in love with his name. That man’s name was Cale Lehman. He was my great-great-something uncle who was born in 1886.
Starting that day, Cale Lehman’s name went on a Sticky note in my mind, where it remained until I found a good use for it—a seer. A man who is brave, loyal, and loves well, but quietly, and he’s also a little sad. But the sadness isn’t the end of his story.
I LOVE that I was able to take the name of one of my relatives—a real person in my family line—and bring him back to life, in a manner of speaking. The real Cale Lehman will never know how he exists in the modern world, yet he does exist and I like it. :)
